Tax Checklist

Review this checklist to make sure you’ve got everything ready!

1. Income Slips
  • T4 – Employment income
  • T4A – Pension, annuity, self-employment, or other income
  • T4E – Employment insurance benefits
  • T4RSP / T4RIF – RRSP or RRIF withdrawals
  • T5 – Investment income
  • T3 – Trust income (including mutual funds)
  • T5007 – Social assistance or workers’ compensation
  • T5018 – Contract payments (for self-employed individuals)
  • T5013 – Partnership income
  • RC210 – Working income tax benefit advance payments
  • Any other income documentation (e.g., rental, self-employment summaries) **

2. Business, Gig, or Employment Expenses
  • Vehicle log and related expenses for business or gig work, or employment use with T2200 **
  • Home office expenses (if used for business or employment) **
  • Employment expenses (requires T2200 from employer) **

3. Deductions & Credits
  • RRSP contributions (official slips)
  • Childcare expenses (with provider details)
  • Medical expenses **
  • Charitable donations **
  • Tuition fees (T2202)
  • Union or professional dues
  • Moving expenses (if you relocated for work or study) **
  • Political contributions
  • Childcare expenses **
  • Adoption expenses
  • Interest paid on student loans
  • Carrying charges and interest expenses
  • Exams for professional certification
  • Support payments (received or paid)
  • Disability tax credit certificate (T2201)

4. Property & Investments
  • Rental income and expenses summary **
  • Sale of property or investments (T5008 or transaction summary)
  • Any other investment income

5. Other Documents
  • Notice of Assessment from last year
  • CRA correspondence

Note:** You don’t need to upload receipts for these items. Just provide the details in your forms and keep them for your records in case of CRA audit.
